It has 2 types, pressure type and injection type, which can be substitute bakelite in some application:             

It has more color than bakelite, we can produce any color of amino you want. But its heat resistance temperature is lower than bakelite. And furthermore, it can be used in same injection machine as bakelite           

And the pressure type is widely used for producing toilet seat cover.
